CWA COMMENTS ON NEW WATER RESTRICTION PROPOSALS FROM SOUTH-WEST WATER AUTHORITY
07/10/2026
South-West Water Authority announced this week that they are also proposing a Non-Essential Use Ban (NEUB) to DEFRA for parts of Devon and Dorset with suggestions that they could remain under drought conditions until Spring 2027.
Brian Madderson, Chairman of the Car Wash Association (CWA), said “This means that there are now three such NEUB proposals to replace existing TUBs (temporary use bans) with DEFRA, after Southern and South-East Water Authorities have already submitted their applications during recent weeks”
As the only not-for-profit body representing compliant car washes, both automated and hand, the Car Wash Association is forging close relationships with each of the water authorities and DEFRA/EA in order to mitigate the impact on businesses in the affected areas.
